Part-Time Janitor
The Care Group (“TCG”) offers high-quality residential care services to complex care clients in 9 homes throughout the Lower Mainland and Vancouver Island. THE OPPORTUNITY
We are looking for a Janitor to join our The Gardens team in Qualicum Beach, B.C.
Shifts: 20-30 hours per week. Flexible availability, sometimes on-call (emergency) so preferably to live close by.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Previous experience in janitorial or housekeeping roles (preferably in a healthcare or residential setting).
- Knowledge of cleaning techniques, sanitation standards, and use of cleaning equipment and supplies.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices.
- COVID-19 vaccination.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Ability to maintain a checklist record Janitor routines
- Strong communication skills when interacting with residents, staff, and visitor
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs, move furniture, pick up deliveries from hardware stores
- Must be physically fit, adaptable, and is an effective team member
DUTIES
- Empty garbage and recycling bins and ensure proper waste disposal
- Restock cleaning supplies and report inventory needs
- Report maintenance issues or safety hazards to appropriate personnel
- Assist with basic facility upkeep and ensure a safe, clean, and welcoming environment
- Follow infection control procedures and safety protocols at all times
