Cook’s Assistant / Deep Cleaner

THE OPPORTUNITY
We are looking for Cook’s Assistant / Deep Cleaner to join our The Gardens team in Qualicum Beach, B.C.

Shifts: 7 pm to 11 pm / 3 days a week
Responsibilities:
- Clean dishes, pots, glassware, and cutlery according to established culinary procedures
- Monitor and record temperature of the dish machine and report all deficiencies to Executive Chef
- Ensure the correct use of dish washing chemicals
- Assist in food prep as assigned by Cook or Executive Chef
- Clean and disinfect all surfaces, including counters, walls, floors, shelving, and storage areas
- Clean hard-to-reach areas, including behind and under equipment, to maintain sanitation standards
- Degrease and thoroughly clean kitchen equipment, ovens, hoods, sinks, and dishwashing stations
- Restocking of work area and ensure proper stock rotation is maintained
- Complete required food safety and production logs
- Maintain a safe work environment at all time
- Ensure proper use, handling, and storage of cleaning and dishwashing chemicals in accordance with WHMIS
- Attend in-service meetings and training as required
Qualifications:
- Grade 10 minimum education is preferred
- A valid Food Safe certificate
- WHIMIS certificate
- Must complete screening for TB
- Proof of COVID vaccination
- Must successfully pass the prescribed Criminal Record Check
