As our Recreation Manager, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping a vibrant and engaging environment for our residents. You’ll develop, implement, and evaluate activity programs that enhance the physical, social, emotional, intellectual, spiritual, and cultural well-being of those in our care. Your work will directly impact our residents' lives—making every day more enjoyable and fulfilling!
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Creative Program Planning: Develop exciting, fun-filled recreation programs, from outings and parties to exercise sessions, crafts, and entertainment.
- Resident Focused: Create personalized recreation calendars and activation plans, tailored to each resident's needs and preferences.
- Family Engagement: Lead and document quarterly family council meetings, keeping families connected and informed.
- Exciting Outings: Organize and coordinate resident trips and activities, ensuring all logistics (clothing, equipment, transportation) are set for a seamless experience.
- Volunteer Leadership: Recruit, train, and guide volunteers to support activities, ensuring they have everything they need to help residents thrive.
- Team Leadership: Supervise and support Activity Aides, assisting with training and performance evaluations.
- Collaborative Care: Work closely with nursing and administrative staff to ensure every activity aligns with our residents’ care plans and well-being.
What We’re Looking For:
- Education: Grade 12 and completion of a recognized Recreation Program (or equivalent experience).
- Certifications: Must be a Recreation Therapist with a current First Aid certificate.
- Experience: A background in designing and delivering recreational programs and managing volunteers is ideal.
- Communication Skills: Ability to engage effectively with residents, families, and team members—both verbally and in writing.
- Physical & Organizational Skills: Ability to carry out physical duties and stay organized, managing multiple tasks and activities.
