Associate Director of Care (ADOC)
Are you a dedicated and compassionate nurse with a passion for enhancing resident care?
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Associate Director of Care (ADOC) to join our compassionate Casa Mia team in Vancouver. As an ADOC, you will lead by example, coordinating and supervising direct resident care activities to ensure that our residents receive the highest quality of care in a safe and respectful environment. You’ll work closely with our Director of Care (DOC) and other departments to continually assess and improve our services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess residents' needs and develop, implement, and evaluate personalized care plans.
- Liaise with physicians, community agencies, families, and volunteers to ensure holistic care.
- Lead and coordinate the annual Interdisciplinary Care Conference and Medication Review meetings.
- Conduct monthly audits and identify areas for improvement, ensuring quality standards are met.
- Assist in identifying and implementing quality improvement initiatives within the facility.
- Deliver education and presentations to staff throughout the year, ensuring ongoing professional development.
- Coach nursing and care staff on MDS, PointClickCare (PCC), and Point of Care practices.
- Participate in JOHS and Infection Control meetings, contributing to a culture of safety.
- Support the orientation and integration of new employees into the team.
- Foster a safe environment for both residents and staff.
- Support TCG Quality Improvement and accreditation initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an approved nursing school with current active registration with the BC College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM) as a Registered Nurse (RN).
- BSN preferred or a combination of nursing experience and additional education.
- Proven experience in caring for frail elderly and physically/mentally challenged individuals.
- Previous gerontological nursing experience (5 years preferred).
- Valid First Aid and CPR certification.

Casa Mia is a Care Home on a heritage estate property located along Vancouver's Southwest Marine Drive. This expanded and updated heritage home will offer 90 long term care beds, consisting of primarily single occupancy rooms. Many with expansive views over the Fraser River and towering trees. Casa Mia is a storied 1930’s mansion boasting views of gorgeous grounds, the Fraser River, Georgia Straight, and the mountains of Vancouver Island. This estate home features three stories with a grand dining area, ballroom, recreation areas and large outdoor patios on each floor. Casa Mia provides our residents with a modern care environment with a throw back to Vancouver’s heritage. Casa Mia works in collaboration with the Vancouver Coastal Health Authority. We offer 58 subsidized care beds and 32 private pay.
